Promotion of Worklife Ability

A diversified, interdisciplinary network based in Pirkanmaa and exceptionally large in the Finnish context focuses on proactive improvement of worklife ability in work organisations. The network organisation, which adheres to the principle of open communication and appreciates the special abilities of the involved actors, is in its present form divided into a Learning Network and a Business network. The networks connect different ’cloverleaf” parties representing worklife ability in a new way. No similar cooperation between the parties has existed before.

Networked Coordination Organisation

The purposeful cooperation of the network organisation will result in a permanent both nationally and internationally networked coordination organisation that will assume an active role in coordinating the programming of future business and worklife-oriented activities, the development of new innovative training products and procedures and the launching of new topical development projects.

Worklife ability: What it is?

”Worklife ability refers to the ability and willingness of persons to learn, apply and combine new knowledge and skills related to the product, work, fitness for work, work organisation, work environment, and the business operations of the company (and their interconnections) in creative ways that are useful for the individual, enterprise and society” (Olavi Manninen 2004).

Central objectives

The general objective of the network organisation is to find and test development models which link the functionality of working communities and organisations closely to the development of the work itself, which encourages the personnel to take initiative and assume responsibility for development, and which enable full utilisation of the abilities of the organisation, learning and the creation of a new positive, encouraging and confidential working culture in work organisations.

Thus it is our intention to turn the development of work organisations into a whole that covers work, organisation of work, quality of work life, and well-being and abilities of employees, and contains an integral component of forecasting the operational and economic needs of abilities in organisations and promoting the development of abilities.
